Good old British thing to talk about - looks like we can't rely on the weather being kind to Green Man after the best part of two months of persistent rain.
On the upside, it's in stately home grounds rather than a farmer's field like Glastonbury, so whatever mud there is should be a bit more tolerable... shouldn't it?
I don't know about you lot, but I'm packing plenty of wet weather stuff. The car park isn't far from the campsite, so making two trips from the car because of extra gear might be better than one trip and being soggy for three days.

Anybody else a bit worried that the festival might get cancelled if the bad weather continues? A few festivals have already fallen due to the weather and the outlook for the next few weeks is more of the same. The site held up well last year but then the weather had been good before the festival.

I did glastonbury this year and it was the most rain i have ever witnessed there and that was my 12th time, but saying all that it was one of my best times ever, after all we do live in the U.K. and i know the amount of rain this summer is freakish, but lets grin and bare whatever mother nature throws at us.......... I did rain a little last year at greenman, but don't forget there are only 7,000 people there not 175,000 so it will never be as bad as glasto....... I had a ball at Greenman last year, and i will this year despite the weather.

I like your attitude, palesaint! As long as I can keep my feet dry, everything will be alright.

From the Green Man site:-
Site Update - Weather Report We've had a few questions about the weather and want to set a few minds to rest. Brecon has not been affected by the recent rains and Glanusk is looking lush and green. The site is well drained and firm underfoot. Furthermore, The Green Man Festival is unique to the Glanusk Estate so the ground will not be in anyway damaged before the event. If you have any further questions please get in touch via the info line. See you in August! Jo and Danny
Yippee! Two consecutive dry days here in Brum. It's summer!

That sounds promising, let's just hope that the ridiculous amount of rain that fell during June has now all run out.
The latest Metcheck.com report says that it'll be 25°c (77°f), with a 55% chance of rain. I don't know how much chance there is of that being accurate this far from the event, though.

Looks like rain from that met check site linked above. Is 1mm rain a lot in a three hour period or more like light showers?

One thing I've learned about going to festivals.
There is no point whatsoever in checking the weather forecast until 48 hours prior to going.

The Met Office Mountain Forecast for the Brecon Beacons is pretty reliable- Glanusk is in the east of the Beacons. There is also a good long range general forcast for south east Wales on the same site. 1mm in 3 hours isn't bad. I'm going to cycle over there tommorow and have a look at how things are doing.

I'm sure that I've read, somewhere, that it's almost impossible to accurately predict the weather for more than a couple of days in advance ("chaos theory" and all that...) That's what I'm hoping, anyway... There again...there are so many people, on these boards, who have purchased sooper-dooper, ex-army ponchos that they'll probably be a lot of folks disappointed if it doesn't rain at the GreenMan...! But I'm not really that bothered - last year it pissed down for 50% of the time, and it was no problem at all (but I have got a poncho... )

The current Metcheck forecast looks okay. Light showers possible for much of the weekend but otherwise fine. It's still a way off though, so not reliable. I guess you just say that the current forecast is for nothing too extreme in terms of wetness, temperature etc.
