It was bloody miserable last year.Rain is not good at any festival. The problem with the location is that it has it's own micro-climate.If it's wet it's wet. Let's all think sun !

Oh bugger. The BBC's five day forecast is showing "heavy rain" for Tuesday and "Heavy showers" for Wednesday. Here's hoping it's just going to be two days of rain followed by glorious sunshine.
That Metcheck thing looks a bit more positive, showing some cloud and some sunshine, and very little rain over the course of the festival.

Nearly all UK weather reports use Met Office observations and forecasts. Currently the Met Office have a Severe Weather Warning out for south Wales at the time of the festival, with a 40% chance of rain and high winds. However, the north has a 60% chance of catching these. On the other hand, my missess weather house says it will be dry and my eldest daughter says her weather seaweed says it will be bright, sunny and lovley, with the only showers being those of Pixie Dust. So I have just re-proofed the tent and bought new wellies, in the ernest hope the elements will be appeased

I wouldn't even give what it has to say a second look.

Bored with sunshine?? Or west Wales? Don't trust the BBC. Met Office or Pixie Dust for me- and the hope that the wiered micro-climate that exists in the Beacons will work to give unbroken sunshine for five days. The Green Man won't help- he's SAXON.

I think the BBC use Met Office forecasts so it shouldn't be significantly different to the Met Office site. Metcheck uses different models, so often tends to give a markedly different forecast. They've mostly been forecasting light showers for next weekend. If that's what we get it won't be too bad.

The latest version of events says that we're going to have a fair bit of rain on the Saturday.
I am taking steps tonight to waterproof my gazebo.

your tent should be fine with the little bit of rain that seems to be forecast but as with all tent's, dont leave anything touching the inside of the tent 'walls' if it's raining.

I can't remember where I read it, probably on here, but if rain's expected over night and you're a bit short of space in your tent, wham all your rucksacks and things into black bin-liners to prevent them getting wet if they accidentally touch the sides of the tent.

that's a good idea, I've got lots of space in my tent anyway, but will be bringing plenty of binliners in case of rain!

I know the forecast is changing all the time, but it's now looking very, very wet for saturday-sunday on met check. They're now forecasting rain for the whole day sunday.
I really hope it improves. I'm bringing a camper van and really don't want to get stuck in the mud.

Blimey, the Sunday forecast has gone a bit rubbish.

I've just been looking at various different forecasts, and they are all different to each other. The Metcheck one is about the worst, and WeatherOnline.co.uk is saying it's going to be sunny spells all weekend with only 30 or 40% chance of rain.
My personal conclusion is that none of them know any better than we do.

I think it's probably a good idea not to look on any of the websites, because they're just going to be misleading and silly. Even if you get an accurate one, it'll just be contradicted by another.
I'll probably have a look on a website the day of the festival, but, other than that, I'm going to let the elements surprise me!
