Someone asked me at the GB gig how the locals took to the festival. From my experience traders and residents like having the GM here. Did anyone venture into the town ?

I certainly think that apart from a bit of traffic for a few days there was little on the negative side impinging on their daily life.

the couple who run our hotel said that almost no one in crickhowell even knew the festival was happening!
last year, the woman in the paper shop told me that she'd never met so many smiling people!
and that we could "teach folks round here a thing or two"

I was talking to a collegue in work just now who lives on the hill behind the site. amused tolerance would seem to be the general line. Local policeperson I know says it makes not a blind bit of difference. Wouldn't know it was there etc. A number of local bourgousie go there on a day at a time, so response ranges fro positive to neutral. I've never picked up on any negative feeeling towards it.

I wondered if the only 'critical' point was the narrow bridge and the junction up where the filling station is.
