I predict......weather. All of it. Watch it. Moving along. The sun there. Bit of wind. Rain.

I'm starting imagine the worse. I've just been looking at the photos I took in 2007 in order to get in to the right frame of mind for the coming ordeal.

Depends when the jet stream sorts itself out. The fact that it’s been out of kilter since the beginning of July is why (here in the Welsh Borders anyway) the past few weeks have been very wet, windy and cool. Met office suggesting it may shift back mid-August. I think it’s likely to be wet but not as bad as 2007 and 2008 when the entire summer was shite.

Strange to say but after the experience of 2007 I thought 2008 seemed bearable. Anyhow I sure GM are getting prepared. Over the years I've seen more and more artificial surfaces put down.

Were 2007 and 2008 horrendous? 2010 was my first Green Man and my wife's and young kids' first festival. Hands down the wettest festival I've ever been too.
I was camping in the Gower last week and the Wednesday was very, very wet and windy. So good practice for worst case scenario in 2 weeks. So, in summary, summery..... hopefully.

2007 was very wet. 2008 was something else. The talk was it nearly got called off on the Sunday. Over the years there’s been so many improvements to deal with the dampness. But yeah it was wet.

We spent the whole of Saturday in our tent, the rain was persistently heavy all day at 2008--anyway who speaks the rubbish that there is no bad weather just bad clothing clearly never went that year. But Caribou on the Sunday night was one of the best gigs/atmospheres I have ever attended.

God yes, Caribou played one of the best sets I’ve seen anywhere. Still feel sorry for the guy who came on at the end to explain they’d lose their licence if the band played on.

He went from being quite aggressive--"You can all stay and shout as much as you want but you will not be getting any more" which made the crowd twice as loud to almost begging and pleading with the audience to leave.

I remember my first Green Man in 2012 had bad weather most of the time, it seemed to rain heavily almost continuously, and it was very muddy. Enjoyed it a great deal though, and we've been coming back since almost every year. I tend to prefer it when it's not too hot, I like a breeze and not feeling too baked by the sun.

There've been a few very wet ones, but 2008 was something else- heard a story of mud literally flowing into a tent that was just downhill from a pathway...... Was really impressed at how prepared they were after that, though. I feel that similar rain wouldn't be nearly as catastrophic if it happened this year.
Apparently it's wind that really messes with things as there's a lot of health and safety concerns.

After a brief spell of optimism with just scattered outbreaks of pessimism, the Met Office forecast has turned to shite again. Mind, their forecast is as changeable as the weather at Green Man.
Sunday 13 Aug - Tuesday 22 Aug Further unsettled weather is expected early in the period, bringing showers, some heavy and thundery, across the UK. Western regions are likely to see the greatest rainfall, but drier and brighter conditions are possible, the southeast of England having the greatest chance of this. Generally breezy across the country with temperatures for many around average for the time of year, perhaps slightly below in wet or windy conditions. The unsettled conditions are likely to continue through the middle of August, though western areas may see a reduction in the number of showers compared to earlier in the period.

There will definitely be weather of some description, and quite probably several types. That’s the only thing that’s certain!

Finally. My profile pic comes into its own. Expect weather. All of it. I remember delightful times were had in the cinema tent on previous rainy days.

General trend seems to be a warm spell coming in just in time. Talk of 30 degrees plus in Southern England.
To add to all the other weather there'll be, such as rain, ice, snow and a Saturday Night sandstorm.
