Back from my first Green Man and there's no doubt this will be an annual trek to the beautiful surroundings of Glanusk Park. Got to be the most amazing setting for a festival.Shame about the weather on Saturday which turned it into a mud bath for the remainder of the weekend-at least I stopped feeling left out not getting Glasto tickets this year as I got my fair quota of mud!
Highlights for me were:-
1.Joanna Newsom - first time I've seen her live and has to be one of the greatest acts I've ever seen simply astonishing.
2.Gruff Rhys - was told not to miss this by Rootsy who saw him at Summer Sundae and have to say Skylon was the best moment of the weekend.
3.Clinic - not heard of these beforehand and was one of those acts you discover at festivals which you know will soon be in your CD collection.
4.Dead Meadow - been meaning to see these for a while and didn't let me down.
5.Robert Plant - enough said!
Bubbling under:- The Earlies,The Aliens,Six organs, and Devendra Banhart(although that girl from Newcastle had to be a plant!)
One of the best run festivals i've been to.The stewards were unobtrusive and helpful(unlike those tossers at Latitude!) Amazing range of food for such a small festival and the Wye Valley bitter was pretty good too. One thing I would like to see that Latitude done this year is use the re-usable plastic beer cups which cuts down on the waste tremendously. There was the usual sea of plastic at the end of each night which is unnecessary and so wasteful.
Apart from that great weekend-well done the Welsh!

One thing I would like to see that Latitude done this year is use the re-usable plastic beer cups which cuts down on the waste tremendously. There was the usual sea of plastic at the end of each night which is unnecessary and so wasteful. I wonder if this was done because LAST year people were incandessant with rage (believe it or not) that they'd to pay £1 for a heavy duty plastic glass (sorry about the oxymoron). So I'd say they can't win. But I agree that the throwaways were a poor show especially they way so many people disposed of them on the grass. In all actually I was hugely disappointed by people's (if you'll forgive the sweeping generalisation) wastefulness but that again is another thread

I'd agree with that Woodenrabbit- why don't peope take stuff home with them. I kept my plastic glass from last year, and insisted on using it this year. But I'm daft I suppose.

The stewards were unobtrusive and helpful(unlike those tossers at Latitude!) Do you mean Stewards or Security?
