Faeriekisses (AKA Arwen) back in the room.
Been to every Green Man at Glanusk bar one (foolishly went to Beautiful days 2006) and sang last year in Einstein's Garden with The Fantasy Orchestra including my first ever lead vocal!)
Beard wearing, flag bearing, sparkle coated facilitator of joy and silliness and believer in random acts of kindness.
If you see a sunshine umbrella, that'll be me 😁
Just back from a muddy Bluedot and sun scorched Glastonbury so by rights Green Man and End of the Road will be in the "Goldilocks zone" (also I'm a science nerd 😁)

Bore da!
Got locked out of the old official forum years ago and couldn't find a way to get back in.
Long time Greenman-goer - since at least 2006. Welsh resident.
Looking forward to this year's - just hope it's neither too wet nor too hot....

For all new forum members,we meet in the Britannia Inn beer garden on Wednesday afternoon--good opportunity to see everyone.

Hi, I’m Rob, 57 and I live in Cardiff. I’ve been going since 2007 and it’s a highpoint of my year. Due to family teenage meltdowns in 2019, I’m planning to come alone for the first time in 2020. You're never alone at Green Man

Any interest in a Thursday meet? Not sure I can make Wednesday night (secretly hoping for another train strike on the Thursday as loved hitting the site on the Wednesday. I would get a settlers ticket but want my usual camping spot and not prepared to move everything on the Thursday morning ) but might optimistically look for somewhere to saty in Abergavenny on the Wednesday night.

Yeah, I'm not doing settlers this year (don't have a lot of annual leave left over this year) but should be there for about 4 on the Thursday. Assuming the clashfinder is right I'll probably be watching a lot of music that evening with Plastic Mermaids, Gentle Good, Weird Wave and Sister Wives, but shall we try and grab a table outside the walled garden bar as usual and see how long it lasts?
I was actually looking at staying in Hereford and getting an early train to Abergavenny as there are a few cheap hotels with space there, but it would have still worked out a lot more expensive, so doing the whole journey on Thursday as usual.

Mitch from South Wales here! I've been to Greenman 3 times, 4th this year and OVER THE MOON THAT DEVO ARE PART OF THE STORY! I play in my own similar sort of Electropop band and one day hope to have the opportunity to perform at the best festival on the Welsh planet!

Hello, my wife and I have many Green Mans (or should that be Men?) under our belts now, my first was in 2012 and this year will be my tenth. I'm from North Tyneside originally, but I've lived in a few places in England since the late 90s and been settled in Manchester for the last decade.
The music at GM isn't always my cup of tea, but there's usually a dozen or so acts I want to see, and we've been going with the same group of friends for a long time, so it's as much of a regular get-together as a music festival for me.
This year I'm really looking forward to seeing Goat, The Wedding Present, Slowdive, Kanda Bongo Man, Horace Andy, Beth Orton and Etran De L'Air.
We're all heading down to stay in a hotel in Monmouth on the Wednesday night so we can get to the site early on the Thursday. We did it last year and it worked really well, not least because some of our mates come down from Edinburgh and it'd be a hell of a long haul for them to do in one go on the Thursday.

Hiya! After many years, I am following the nostalgia of festivals-from-years-past, and am making the trek from California to Green Man this year. Looking forward to sharing a beautiful few days with you all!
Question: I will be traveling afterwards, and the thing is, I'll have luggage... Yup... Any ideas of where I might stash such a thing prior to getting to the festival? I'll be coming straight from Heathrow and would rather not show up with my suitcases if possible... :-) Cheers!

Depending on what you are doing post festival leaving it at Heathrow will likely be the best option! It has a left luggage facility. There might be a station en route to GM that also has one, you can look it up. Bristol (but be aware there are two main station, Templemeads and Parkway). Cardiff. I doubt Newport has one. Reading might, if you are going there from Heathrow, and Paddington will, if you are going into London and out.
There is the CND tent on site, they will look after stuff for you. But mostly set up for valuables, rather than bulk objects!

No worries. I'm travelling from Australia for it (and lots of other things!) this weekend, us long-haulers have to stick together.

Hi !
I was an irregular visitor on the original site under the same moniker. That now seems to have vanished, so I find myself here.
Due to a long term medical issue I now find myself unable to attend my favourite festival.
I see a lot of people on here seem to use Fanticks if they need to move a ticket. Personally I tend to use Twickets as the official re-seller always appeared a little expensive for both buyer and seller.
Just want to canvas opinion on this. Should I start as a new thread ?

Not sure about this, judging on the tickets available currently on Fanticks and Twickets, there are far more cheaper tickets on Fanticks (plenty of adult tickets for 200.00) and the Twickets fees are generally around 10.00 more than on Fanticks.

Any idea why the killed the official Green Man Forum? I prefer it here anyway. probably because we were all quite moany and they didn't want that linked to their official page! it's been impossible to sign up for several years now and there was no link to the forum anywhere on the webpage so it's been coming for quite a while as you say, better here anyhow

Yeah, it's been increasingly weird that the official one existed, and they probably felt the increasing urge to censor us. It's not exactly great for PR having about 5 people responding to the lineup announcement with "not for me this year- underwhelmed" on their own website.

According to Fiona, they just got fed up of providing a platform for people to moan publicly about their festival. She phoned me in 2020 for a chat about it, and I said that if it was my project I'd feel the same. This is a much better talking space anyway.

Hello. I was also Berthasdad on the old forum, off and on for a few years. My first GM was 2011 and I'd only missed a couple until this year. Because I couldn't get along this year(which is a bummer, 'cos the line up had all sorts that I'd have loved to see - DEvo was my first ever 'unchaperoned' gig in 1980 at Manchester Apollo....) I didn't bother looking at the 'official' forum for ages...
