Excellent choice, regardless of whether he does mostly Pulp or mostly solo stuff.

Don't know if he'll be universally popular with the GM fraternity, but I'll be happy to see him.

he won't do pulp stuff. Saw him at latitude 2 years ago, and he didn't do a single pulp song. Did do a cover of eye of the tiger tho

I'm a huge Pulp fan -always felt they were easily the best of the Britpop pack . . . but his solo stuff leaves me cold. Just doesn't have either the subtlety or the edge that made Pulp such an interesting band.

I like what I've heard of his solo stuff, IMHO it's certainly edgy enough! I'm looking forward to seeing him at GM this year.

I thought his Glastonbury performance was excellent--which is available to watch along with the superb bon iver on the bbc glastonbury website.

Wow! Thanks for the heads-up on the Bon Iver set. The version of Skinny Love he did on Jools Holland's show sent shivers up my spine but this was even better. Impressed that so many knew the words too! So looking forward to seeing him/them in August. Right, off to check out Jarvis now although I've done a deal whereby I get to see Animal Collective in return for baby-sitting when Jarvis is on - still you get to hear it all pretty well in the camping area.

Mmmmm . . . still unconvinced. No doubt he's a great showman but he just seems to be going through the motions these days - the stuff he wrote with Pulp were little vignettes whereas this stuff has much more of a throwaway feel to it. Musically it all sunds a bit lumpen too. Still, wouldn't do if we were all t'same would it? And thanks again for Bon Iver - I'll be going back to that!
