heather jones - grand dark americana in a kind of shivaree style type thing - seems to now be trading as h jones x I think you've got the wrong Heather Jones. I'm pretty sure it's the welsh Heather Jones playing GM. The highlight of Saturday for me is definitely Richard Thompson. Will also be watching Howlin' Rain, Devon Sproule, North Sea Radio Orchestra, Essie Jain and the Drift Collective. There a quite a few other acts I might check out.

Ray - they're all on Domino 'cos Folkey DoKeys being run by Domino on the Sat night....kinda like Green Man Cafe in association with Dulcimer on Saturday night (a rather lovely bar in Chorlton Manchester) whose motto is 'fine ales for fine folk' - can I suggest you check out mr John Stammers and on the Friday other manchester luminaries - George Thomas, David A Jaycock and Sara Lowes (some time Early) got a feeling they might be the Red Deer contribution this year and I think Dunk Le Chunk is spinning in the Rumpus room at some point

Barbarossa was one of the worst things I came across whilst going through the line-up. The songs on his myspace are terrible anyway. Would much rather watch Magik Markers than that.
Lots of good stuff on Sunday, but it all leads up to Pentangle for me.

Magik Markers latest album Boss is really good--there has been a line up change and a more accessible sound--i think it will sound stunning live. Looking forward to National/magik markers and Caribou to finish the weekend.

There's more than one Barabarossa too but the other one's some Latvian death metal act so I assume there's no confusion there... Just checked the myspace link www.myspace.com/barbarossauk and that's the right Barbarossa unless somebody booked some Latvian Death Metal for the Green Man Café, but I have his last album (some nice songs, but nothing to write home about) and the track on his myspace is quite different- I suspect a recent change of direction!

he's part of the Fence posse and i think Simon Lord produced the last album - and yeah the new stuff does seem to have a more of an upbeat sound than the last 2 albums - less adem more black affair

Must say I really like the School Of Language and Damien Jurando songs on their myspace sites, I'll be aiming to watch them.
