Definitely no 'camp fires' As i recall, there may be 1 or 2 'organised' fires. The toilet situation seems to get better each year, in 2005 there wasn't a huge amount of them, but 'Toliet Lorry - Man' was doing his best to empty them regularly & keep them clean. I suggest that you spend the next 2 weeks training your bladder & bowel, so they only need 'emptying' once in the morning & once in the evening!

having been to glasto and experienced the toilets there I am already starting the bowel training. any one got any ideas what the shower facilities are like as I think my girlfriend is expecting a holiday camp?

The toilets were great last year. Best festival toilets i've experienced.
Pretty much everytime I went I found them clean and stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
I didn't spot anywhere selling bongos last year and I hope there isn't anywhere selling them this year.

no camp fires in the camping area - there was a large communal fire in the arena last year
there's no real market like you get at other festivals. There is a "super" market selling over priced stuff, but it's not your typical festival fare
the toilets weren't too bad last year, the "long drops" at latitude are the best i've experienced at a festival though

The showers were really good last year, though am hoping they'll put more on this year seeing the capacity is bigger.

I like to have a shower even when I'm camping. Call me a camping softie if you want, but the idea of there being good showers appeals to me enormously.

I've done the wet wipe approach, but never felt properly clean until I went and found a shower. Each to their own.

Showers are not for me you understand, its the girlfriend that wants them. its not a proper festival unless you have four days of grime on you. wet wipes yes, talc powder as well put some in your shoes at the start of the day kepps em dry and cool

I've never quite understood why people want to be covered in grime at festivals. But the more people who think that way there are, the more chance I've got of getting into a shower, so I suppose it all balances out.

I'm not bothering with the showers - clean clothes will mask all kinds. That said I reckon Chris will be the only 'clean' member of our group and therefore you may find the rest of us all the less pleasent for it!

I will indeed lawm, and Bri is thinking of getting a small accordion so we can do an impromptu We Are The Pinstripes set whilst plastered. We've acquired a cheapo guitar so we won't have to worry about it all weekend.

After a swift gander at the "We Are The Pinstripes" MySpace page, I've decided I like it.
Play loudly, so I'll be able to hear it and destroy a few tents as I canter towards the sound.

Hi, if you're going to play morrissey covers, please can you do it in a confined (and preferably soundproof) area, thanks.[a href="http://[del:sen]"]http://[del:sen][/a]

You can't be precious about him though, I like it when people do covers of his stuff. The Pinstripes version is excellent, by the way.

Toilets were absloutely TOP QUALITY and really one of the most amazingly cool things about last years festival. One learned not to get cross at the sound of the slurry lorries draining them in the wee sma' hours Also the toilets had cool evapoarting soap that was constantly replaced.
