I'm really going to sound like a grumpy ol'mam but I am, once more, disappointed with the annoucenement. (as posted next door). To me, it looks like a recycled End of the Road line-up from last year. It is ironic as on the other hand, the EOTR seem to have recycled last year's GM line-up. However, last year I really was impressed with the GM but couldn't go. Anyway, what I have to say about the bands just announced is that it is very conventional. I like to be surprised when I go to festivals and I don't see anything that makes my heart go boom. I do have to say that there are a lot of bands I don't know, much more than last year and there can be some surprises but this year, I change career and all, I used to be able to listen to music 8 hours a day and now I only listen something new every once in a while. I was very set on going to the GM this year, looking at the previous years' line-ups, I was certain that it was going to look good this year. I just wonder where the money went because I can't see how this year's bands can add up to as much as the previous ones. It's my loss really, no hols at Glanusk Park for me this year. I will wait for next one, hoping for a better line up and I swear that I will come to the GM. This year is not my year though and it is definitely MY loss. Damn (going to go again to the EOTR though, and I'm very very excited about the audacity of the organisers to line up Kurt Vile, Lykke Li, Bob Log III and The Fall on the same bill)

As for recommendations, I'd strongly advise you to listen to (if you haven't) The Antlers, their album Hospice is brilliant, the song Kettering gets me all emotional each time.
Suuns are also a pretty good new band (not to confuse them with sun o)))

I haven't been to EOTR yet but hope to get there sometime soon.

I am really gutted about it, last year was my GM year as the line up was right up my street but I ended up going to the EOTR as I couldn't make the GM. It was a wonderful experience though and I'd strongly recommend it, it's very small, the park is lovely, the food is great and so are the activities, the bands etc... The line up this year though is to die for so here we are.
Just gave another listen to The Antlers today, they are really great.
I just remembered Moddi from last year at the EOTR too, they played a normal gig and I also caught them doing a secret one in the woods, they're pretty good too. Nothing excellent but very very enjoyable, a sort of cross between Yann Tiersen, Beirut and Shearwater.
