Thought it would be a bit excessive to start a thread on every band I'd like to see but here's a few I think would be good:
Lianne Hall. Very lovely singer songwriter ('discovered' by Peel) Rose Kemp. Terrific singer. A bit rock but with well known folky roots. Laura Veirs. Would go down very well I'd have thought. Aberfeldy. Scotland's finest. If you've never seen them then you should. James Blackshaw. Excellent acoustic guitar wizardry. Efterklang. Majestic orchestral sounds from Denmark. Would address the slight lack of artists at GM from the Greater Europe. Tenniscoats. Beautiful, mesmerizing duo from Japan. Tape. Folky electronica from Sweden. Lovely stuff. Sharron Kraus. Don't know if she's played before, but she'd fit like a glove. Simone White. Pretty and delicate songs. Was on tour with Alela Diane recently.
And finally...
... any chance of Mr Will Oldham headlining?

James Blackshaw would be great especially if they can sort out the close miking on his guitar, it didn't work too well in 06. Leading to some rather humble if quite astute observations from the man himself as he went along! While we're on the subject of James' type people - James Reid needs to be in with a look in, he released a rather wonderful little album this year on Barlfire recordings. Kind of ethereal Nick Drake meets Boards Of Canada. I think he still has copies of his album available direct from his Myspace if anyone is interested.

I've posted these before but there good to go again I reckon:-
Will Oldham - No introduction needed.....
MV & EE & The Bummer Road - If we can have PG Six this year then why not ramp it up another notch and get his one time collaborators Matt Valentine/Erika Elder for next year. Or why not go the whole hog and see if we can get a Tower Recordings reformation.
The Boban Markovich Quartet - Balkan folk maestro extraordinaries.
Dan Haywood's New Hawks - From the same stable as Nancy Elizabeth, a Midlander supplanted into a Lancastrian musical unit playing their own take on Hebridian folk (if that even makes sense). Also when I saw them back in March this year they had Johnny Cash's lap steel player with them, which made it excellent.
Panda Bear - Yes that panda bear
Grampall Jookabox - They dub themselves "Jungle Folk"
Deer Tick - Rising star in the mid west, think Phil Elverum with a more country tinge.
Little Wings - Seeing as he couldn't make it in 06 perhaps he can be tempted to make the trip over here.
Jason Anderson - Formerly Wolf Colonel, now recording under his own name, think Springsteen and your close.
Sir Richard Bishop - Former Sun City Girl (RIP Charles Gocher) a veteran guitar wrangler of some 25 years.....
