O my gosh- I haven't paid off the debts from the last one hardly. Plus the new tent. Cut to montage of flying calender pages and £20 notes zooming into void. How much are they then?

On sale now but I'm dammed if I'm buying one 'till I see the lineup.
It might be rubbish ;D

I wouldn't worry resident - it's not going to sell out until close to the event itself. Provided you don't cut it too fine you'll have no problem. Even then there are always tickets available from people who suddenly find themselves unable to go

When it sells out might depend on the lineup, I suppose. The last couple of years it's been high summer before the tickets ran out.
Having said that, the festival is going to be the same size as 2007 in 2008, so word of mouth getting around about what a good weekend it is might well increase the demand.

...the festival is going to be the same size as 2007 in 2008, Is that 'official'? (I presume it must be - as this is now the 'official' GM forum... ) I was a bit concerned about 2007 being quite a bit bigger than 2006 - although it did turn out all right in the end - but I don't think I'd like it to get any bigger for next year...

I've been the last 4 years and had agreat time each year and always bought my tickets immediately but after experiencing latitude/end of the road festivals i need to see the lineup to see if there is enough variety and not just a rehash of previous years---i think End of the road festival surpassed Green man with the quality of its acts[even though its budget was probably much smaller],the choice and quality of its beer[at least 8 ciders].

The info about the size of the festival came from Jo in mid September, so it's official, yes.

I'm with lizdogood, in that the atmosphere and general loveliness of the whole event made the lineup almost a secondary consideration.

I'm not having a dig at the festival[ as i've said i've been the last 4 years and have booked the time off work in anticipation of going this year] but the green man is no longer unique in "the atmosphere and general loveliness" --i've already booked end of the road/camp bestival tickets without knowing any lineup and will book latitude and solfest tickets when they go on sale because they have the atmosphere and a varied linup[maybe not solfest because we only watched a couple of bands this year but the general atmosphere is so good the bands are almost secondary]--i've no doubt the atmosphere will be fantastic again,i especially like the respect the audience give the artists on all stages, but on a limited budget and now spoilt for quality middle sized festivals i will no longer go out of blind loyalty to any festival[ i did that at guilfest by continuing going when it lost its friendly atmosphere] and i wait in anticipation for the line up to book, partially because unlike the other festivals i have mentioned ther is no benefit in booking early[discount tickets] and i can wait until the line up is announced and then decide.

I got really excited when I saw tickets were on sale - but a £7 booking fee seems a bit over the top. I'm happy to pay for the ticket truth be told - I'd pay more! But I booking fee of that MAGNITUDE just seems rude! Is there anywhere I can get my tickets without this flagrant abuse?

It's still one of the cheapest festivals to go to, not just in terms of ticket price, but food and drink is a lot more reasonably priced than some others (mentioning no names, because that would be "V" rude).
I don't think you can get out of the booking fee, but if you find a way make sure you tell everyone else!

Oh I know I'm gripping about nothing - I would just prefer to give my money direct to the Greenman wonders so they can have my £7 rather than the ticket agent getting it that's all! That said I'll still be buying my tickets!!
