Loved every minute of it. Highlights for me were Robert Plant, Joanna Newsom, Seasick Steve and so many more. I'm still walking around with a grin on my face. ;D When it was all over - I did'nt want to go. I could have quite easily have stayed in that valley. What a beautiful setting. However, I was quite shocked by how much litter that was left behind.

I really appreciated the rumpus tent after being over folked. It was weird, normally the folksy acts are the highlight of my festival going, but when there are too many too similar (as on Saturday afternoon) I found it a bit tiring. Fridge were amazing, perhaps for being the first band to get us properly boogying.
That's not really a criticism of the festival as we had a fantastic time, but just relaying my experience.
And I wish they had bitter in the can bars, this would have eased the queueing in the main bar (and slow down my saturday lunchtime drinking - avoiding the super strength cider/ pils).
Other pluses were Rachel Unthank, Mistys Big Adventure, Ellis Island Sound getting their kids on stage, Gareth Pearson, and Devendra Banhart got us grooving. And the Beep Seals. And Gruff
Maybe I'm not a real folkster :-( but it's a top festival whoever you are surely.

Acts I've seen before and really enjoyed seeing again: Tunng (a bit too much 'comedy' though), Alela Diane (probably my favourite singer at the moment), Vashti Bunyan (although missed most of her set because of Fridge clash), Lisa Knapp, Alasdair Roberts
Acts I was really looking forward to seeing for the first time and really enjoyed: Rachel Unthank and the Winterset (shame they didn't get given longer), Slow Club, Monkey Swallows the Universe, Starless and Bible Black, Emmy the Great, Fridge, Malcolm Middleton, Soft-hearted Scientists, Cate le Bon, Nancy Elizabeth.
Acts I didn't have any great expectations or knowledge of that I really liked: Arborea (very wonderful), Thistletown, Victoria Williams, John Rebourn, Seasick Steve, Connan and the Mockasins, Misty's Big Adventure.

:DA late response after scarpering off for more (dry!) camping.
This was our first Green Man and if anyone had told me before that it would rain for 24 hours turning the site into a gloopy swamp and that for reasons associated with the weather and with childcare I wouldn't get to see James Yorkston, PG Six, Monkey Swallows the Universe, Richmond Fontaine, Alasdair Roberts and Vetiver I would have been gutted.
However . . . it was fantastic! The kids loved it. Mud and bubbles - what a combination! Highpoint was the family outing to see Gruff Rhys - sorry if our dodgy singing along to Candylion and Court of King Arthur put anybody off. Other musical highpoints - the wonderful Gilbert (tarantara!!!), Tunng, the little bit of Herman Dune I caught, Vashti Bunyan, King Creosote, Euros Childs but above all Robert Plant who was simply awesome.
Gripes - the General Store. You expect a mark-up at a festival but this was obscene - tent pegs at 50p each?! Get rid of them for next year please. Also really surprised at the amount of litter people were dropping everywhere - there were plenty of bins provided.
Musical gripe - Stephen Malkmus was dreadful. I used to like Pavement - they were quirky and dissonant but had tunes - this was just tedious and the inane banter between songs (who cares about Kasabian for chrissakes - get over it Malkmus) irritating. Banhart should have headlined (surprised to see so many negative comments about him though).
Definitlely will be back next year when we won't forget tentpegs or waterproofs for the kids (hurrah for the farmer's shop in Abergavenny!)

Seasick Steve thought Banhart was rubbish btw
Great weekend.
Highlight: 5am at the firepit every morning. Guaranteed gobsh*te all round.

Another fantastic greenman, it truly is the best festival around Highlight for me were the fact its still the best festival and has retained its spirit, was a bit concerned about the increase in capacity but by moving the Folky Dokey tent it was barely noticable. Still has the best line up and the friendliest atmosphere of any festival I've been too Musical Highlights - The Earlies (played a blinder), Gruff, 9 Bach, Fridge, James Yorkstone, Euros Childs, Tuung, King Creosote, The Fence aftershow, Richard James, Voice of the seven woods (real shame about the tech problems), Clinic, Broken Family Band, The Aliens and The Rumpus Room Great tunes all the time especially Giles / Gareth from the Earlies playing Can, Hawkwind, Fridge and The Silver Apples that put such a smile on my face !!! The weather was a shame but not the end of the world !! Only complaint was the 50p deposit pint pot idea being dropped from the previous year, please bring it back next year. That and running out of cider (thankfully I'd brought plenty with me and we were allowed to bring it in) Biggest down point was my girlfriend tearing a tendon in her knee on the last night, bad enough, but we were going to Skye on a walking holiday after the festival so it really was a downer to end the festival on Cannae wait till next year, please put Hawk and Hacksaw on the main stage for 2008 and get Safetyword to play ;D
