That spreadsheet is pretty neat. Thanks.
It might be because I use OpenOffice.org and not Excel, but I got a nice optical illusion thrown in where each column tapers.

The spreadsheet is great, but, as I'm sure a few people have noticed, there are a couple of things that are wrong.
Namely, that on the Saturday and Sunday columns, the 'Main Stage' and 'Green Man Café' stages are confused. So, if you just move everything from the Green Man stage column to the Main Stage column, it's fine.

Well spotted, duly revised! I knew I'd balls up somewhere. No other glaring errors I trust? www.sendspace.com/file/5f72olEDIT: I didn't actually fix it last time. It's all good now though. In my defence I'm hung over. Fair excuse, right?

Haha, not that I have noticed. It was a pretty easy mistake to make, mind.

The staggering works well particularly since all the stages are so very veyr close together but - given the huge increas ein numbers - I really would think that the Folkie Dokie stage would need to be wehre you were based if you wanted to see a later act like King Creosote, for example from about 8pm onwards unless you want to be stood well outside the tent. In The Green man cafe stage is a little dais outside the bar but it got crowded quickly and being near the archway was a REAL bottleneck. The main stage on the otherhand afforded the opportunity to get REAL close up to 5 mins before an act came on. My kids loved that.

I really hope that the folkey dokey tent is bigger and that there is an alternative route to the main stage other than through the green man cafe. If this isn't the case then the extra 3500/4000 people is really going to screw things up. Yes they Folkie Dokey tent was FULL TO OVERFLOWING after about 9pm every night (dread to think how packed it'll be when Kenny Anderson's on - I am planning to have to STAY in the Folkie Dokie Most of Fri night as my kids SO wanna see him - my daughter is in lovewith Le Baron Rouge (she's only 6! lol). And yes that archway at the Green Man Cafe was a NIGHTMARE - totally.

I'm sure they will have taken into account the increased capacity - sounds like they are doing in all other respects

perhaps beacuse it will be bigger they will concect the area where the folky dokey was from the bottom of the site, the area that ran along the back of the main stage, from memory there was room. not sure if thats a good idea of course but its just that i'm getting a bit excited....i'm off to lie down.

Kerry - good point (no one is MORE excited than me, i assure you) but you'll see what I mean in BOTH instances if they HAVEN'T addressed this and hopefully you WON'T see what I mean if they have

If I miss a band because a tent is too full, I'll either just go and see another one, or go and have a beer in the sunshine.

This pic shows how easy-oasie (lol) the whole main arena is - note how empty it is at about 1pm and note also the fact there are no barriers preventing you getting RIGHT UP to the stage. And that's Scott Matthews playing I think, so note also no secruity personnel to be seen anywhere
