Badly Drawn Boy? Charming Cats in Paris? Splendid James Yorkston? Predictable, but completely welcome!

I've added all of these to the "Line-up with Links" thingy. This is where I get completely lost I know James Yorkston and Badly Drawn Boy, but as far as the others are concerned I better get clicking on those links. Cheers Chris

What a line up!
Seriously...James Yorkston...again...looks like a big name though, doncha think, 'cos at least you may have, like, heard of him? C'mon guys. I know its a risky business this year, but you were rocking two and three years ago. This is just lazy 'pick the best of the cd's' approach.
C'mon. Show some sprit and adventure...

This section is just for talking about acts, so if you have questions about drinking receptacles, the venue etc., please bring them up in the General bit. I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses there.
I've taken off your comments about non-line-up stuff to make sure this thread doesn't turn into a big discussion about the other stuff, but please feel free to start a new thread in "General" if you want to talk about any of those things.
I think the lineup is shaping up to be a superb one. If you don't want to watch James Yorkston when he comes on, there'll be something on one of the other stages.

Green Man without James Yorkston and King Creosote would be unimaginable! I missed James last year and am determined to catch him this time round - the guy's brilliant. Surely that's what GM is all about - a mix of the tried and trusted and some great unknowns. This time last year I knew nothing about Fanfarlo, Monkey Swallows the Universe, Gilbert or Emmy the Great - all of whom (and many more from last year's line-up) are now big favourites of mine. Incidentally, following the sad demise (or hiatus?) of MSTU hopefully Nat Johnson will be on this year's bill - her myspace page mentions a GM 'fringe' gig.

Apols for going off piste.
Addressing the line-up specifically, so far, it is pleasant. Lovely even. But not exciting. And, while I'm with you all on getting the green man vibe, the original green man vibe has mutated. Now, I agree that fesivals should be mutable, but at the same time, there are new festivals that are offering good vibes with the similar line-ups, yet with more unexpected, yet known bands, in far, far more intimate surroundings. I'm not arguing against the green man line up - I'll be there grooving with y'all, after all - I'm just saying that we peeps make our choice, and that there is more than this one. I understand this is a green man forum, but surely we can discuss and debate alternatives. Specially in the context of such a varied festival offering.
By the way, I DO love Green Man.

It's cool grasspoint, I wasn't being funny, just wanted to make sure that things stayed tidy, that's all.

Yes the talented Ms Johnson has kindly agreed to appear at the green baby gig. Details in the shameless self promotion bit
