Just been looking at the directions on the tickets again, and it would appear that the main 'General Camping' entrance this year is directly off the A40.
The directions discussed on the 'Festival GPS' thread are for the campervan and family areas only.
Might have a run up that way today to see if there is any sign of activity.

We're travelling 'in convoy' and need to get directions for the last, tricky bit clear before we set-off. We went the Green Man last year, and it sounds like the entrance for 'ordinary' campers is different this year... can anyone else confirm that access in this case is off the A40? We'll have been on the road for around 5 or 6 hours by the time we're near Crickhowell, and patience will be in short supply!!

Well lots of activity there today and preparations look to be well advanced. A number of large tents erected - I'm hoping that this one is the bar No road signs as yet but with the main entrance off the A40 no one should have any difficulty. Follow the road straight through Crickhowell (keeping right at The Bear Inn pub) and you'll see the festival site within half a mile. There's the Cider Mill Inn on the right hand side of the road (painted pink!) and one of those ancient AA telephone 'tardis' boxes on the left. The main estate entrance is around 100 metres further on. For the family/campervan entrance also go through Crickhowell keeping right at the Bear Inn. Then take the next left (there's a campsite signposted this way). Go over the narrow bridge and turn right when you reach the T junction (signposted Talybont-on-Usk), and I reckon it's about half a mile to the entrance. If you're travelling from further West and you reach Crickhowell or Abergavenny then you've gone too far Hope you all have a safe and unhindered journey.

thanks for this! I thought that was probably the way there but it's good to know definitely
and nice to know I'm not the only one stupidly excited by photos of tents appearing!

Thanks Peridot - and the tent photo is a wondrous sight! This was the Folkey dokey stage last year, and was particularly popular due to it being a dry area to watch from! I saw several amazing bands there because of the rain which I may never have bothered with otherwise... I'm packing two big umbrellas this time!
