Does anyone have a more detailed address for where the festival is?
We had a bit of trouble finding the site last year (I was a passenger) but I'm driving this year and planning on using a SatNav.
Is there a postcode for the area? I can't see one on the tickets or main site.

If you use Sat Nav then it'll probably tell you to stay on the A40 when you get to Crickhowell but that'll take you the wrong way to an entrance to the estate that you can't use, or at least you couldn't last year. Best not to use the sat nav once you get to Crickhowell. Looking at that map....when you get to Crickhowell (travelling on the A40) you need to turn left onto the A4077 (New Road), go over the bridge, and then right onto the B4558, and the entrance to the festival is off that. Hopefully it'll be signposted better this year, we ended up getting a bit lost last year, but then I did have a crap navigator.

Do they have signs posted as you get closer to the estate?

There were a few signs last year, but they were pretty rubbish. The odd A3 square of cardboard with "GREEN MAN >" on, but nowhere near enough of them to direct effectively.

I haven't looked, but the official website says that there are directions on the back of the tickets. Has anyone turned theirs over to have a look? If they're there I'll post them later on, if nobody else does first.

There are directions, but they're not especially detailed. No good for someone like me who's never driven to that end of the country before.

I've just had a look on Autoroute, and it looks like the best thing to put into your GPS would be The Bear Hotel, which is on the High Street, Crickhowell, NP8 1BW. From there, you can follow darren's directions onto New Road, over the bridge over the River Usk, right onto the B4558. Here's a map from The Bear Hotel to Green Man... It's getting domestic... Invisible Girl as in the Cristina Dona song? I've put that postcode in you gave me Chris and it reckons 3 hours from Manchester to there. That's probably a bit optimistic though as it's also V Festival weekend so traffic around Stafford is going to be somewhat of a hurdle.

Good point there Rog, it may be wise to allow extra time for the traffic regardless of the weather. There are bound to be jams with ordinary holiday traffic to the south west as well, so anyone who gets all the way there without having to sit in traffic for a while is going to be incredibly lucky.
I had poo pooed the notion of setting off really early, but it's sort of starting to make sense now.

Then you also have flood traffic round there? I got an email from Global Underground which takes place this weekend telling the public not to listen to the media, its really not as bad as they are making out :S Why not plot a slower journey through Wales and enjoy the countryside? We pass this place last year that looked totally out of place with a hotel on the side of this hill that looked like a bavarian castle, can't for the life of me remember the name of it now but it was so strange! And no nothing to do with a song, more to do with just me

Going through more of Wales might be a good idea to avoid the traffic, I'll see if I can find a route that makes sense from Hartlepool without adding loads of time to the trip.

the signs from crickhowell were none existent when we arrived last year, drove round for ages before we were pointed in the right direction - the map above looks right to me
Getting the train this year though, which should be an adventure

assuming it's the same as last year, the trick is to go over the bridge (south) over the risver usk once you're in crickhowell
then immediately turn right - the entrance to the festival is on the right a few hundred yards along
last year the signs pointed you in the wrong direction!
(there's also a great pub right on the river by the bridge that does food - i think called 'the bridge' - that would make sense...)
cheers ray

Is anyone driving from London on Friday and returning Monday? Myself and a friend would love to tag along if anyone's got room! We're two Aussie males, work full time, easygoing. We'll happily chuck in for fuel etc Dan

Should I put a different poscode in the GPS, or does anyone know the nearest road which crosses the A40?
